This publication accompanies a public art project by Ymere, for which artist Niek Kemps was commissioned to make a work for the stairwell’s window of Het Sieraad; Amsterdam’s restored monument and formal crafts school for goldsmithing. Kemps’ works are characterised by fragmentation. He manipulates and leads the viewer to semi-covered and layered images, which stimulate new or other interpretations. The book shows images of the window work by Kemps in addition to short essays of Elsbeth Brouwer and Philip van den Bossche.
