Starting point for Dheedene’s work which consists of a series of drawings on beer mats, was the logo of the Société Gerenerale Bank, an icon of Dheedene’s childhood, which stood for certitude and stability. Through these drawings, the artist analysed, mingled and reassembled the form of this logo to compose new forms. He chose this specific support because of the ideal format and the specific texture of the raw material. The round corners of the mats easily invite to rotate them. The drawings resulted in a series of collages, exposed in an exhibition and an artist book. Both were entitled Walks, a reference to the many walks the artist undertakes himself, but equally to the walking of the pencil on the limited surface of the pre-determined support.
